The Danish Cup
The Danish Cup (Danish: Landspokalturneringen) is the official "knockout" cup competition in Danish football, run by the Danish Football Association. The cup has been contested annually since 1955.
The tournament has had several name sponsors, but is has no sponsor from 2011. Now the tournament is named DBU Pokalen. The tournament has had various names over time. In the period 1990-1996 the name was Giro Cup, in 1997-1999 Compaq Cup, in 2000-2004 DONG Cup and 2008-2011 Ekstra Bladet Cup.
The Danish Cup 2011/2012 is the 56th season of the Danish Cup competition. After being rebranded, the tournament will be the first under the new name DBU Pokalen(The DBU Cup).
