
The Euro 2016 will be held in the summer of 2016. France was chosen as the host on 28 May 2010. The tournament will be expanded from 16 to 24 teams in 2016 after the plan was unanimously agreed by senior officials of all 53 UEFA members. Spain are the defending champions.
The winner of the tournament will earn the right to compete for the Confederations Cup 2017 hosted by Russia.
