Who wins the German cup 2018?

Odd unit: EU | UK | US

The German cup is simply known as the DFB-Pokal to the German people. The competition is played by all 64 teams from Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. It also has the option for the winner to qualify for the Europa League if they have not qualified for any UEFA competition.

FC Bayern Munich:

Bayern are the king of German football. They have been dominant in every German competition they have played in. But their last DFB-Pokal campaign did not bear any success. And though they have won the German League easily they haven’t played their best football last season. In this summer’s transfer window they have replaced their retired players Phillip Lahm and Xavi Alonso with good players such as Niklas Süle and Sebastian Rudy. So if they are able to get back to their best, none can stop them.

Borussia Dortmund:

Borussia Dortmund are the reigning German cup champions after defeating Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2016/17 final. That is an astonishing achievement considering their young squad. For many of them last year was their first year in Borussia Dortmund shirt. This achievement will only make them stronger. So with a good season under their belt they must surely have a stronger cup run in the next season.

RB Leipzig:

RB Leipzig are the new big team in the Bundesliga. The team is funded by the Red Bull franchise. And with the money from Red Bull, they are destined for great things. RB Leipzig had a shocking campaign last year. Nobody ever thought that they would be able to challenge Bayern Munich for the title. They ended the campaign being the 2nd best in the Bundesliga. And under a great manager in Ralph Hasenhüttl they are able to get the best out of their young squad. So with the ambition of RB Leipzig, they are sure to have another good campaign next year.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim:

Hoffenheim was another dark horse in last year’s Bundesliga campaign. Unlike RB Leipzig money didn’t bring success in their last campaign. It was all thanks to the youngest coach in Bundesliga history Julian Nagelsmann. Julian Nagelsmann introduced a 3-1-4-2 formation which was able to bring the best out of his young squad. Nagelsmann gave his team the freedom to play free flowing exciting football. And the team flourished under his reign. And with a good transfer window in the summer, they will bring fear to the rest of Bundesliga.
