Uruguay finished in the second place in the qualification of World Cup from the South American region. That is not easy to achieve at all. As South America contains some of the best footballing nations of the world. So Uruguay should be considered as a huge threat for any opposing team.

For years Uruguay has been producing some of the best strikers in the world. And like always they will have two of the fiercest strikers in their disposal. Those two are Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani. They both have the capability to be a match winner for their team against any opposition. But after that, the team sheet doesn't look as frightening. Because at the middle of the park, there is no leader present. Most midfielders at Uruguay's disposal are very young and lack the experience of big games. So, it is hard to predict how they would react in the biggest stage of football. Either they may step up at the right moment and give their star strikers freedom to show their talents. Or they may crumble under pressure which may result in a quick end to Uruguay's World Cup journey. In the defensive side of the team, there is much more talent than the midfield. Because there is one of the strongest center back partnership in the world there. José Giménez and Diego Godín have been playing side by side for a lot of seasons for both club and country. So there is no lack of communication there. Communication plays a vital role in the defense. So with both of them at the center of the defense and a good goalkeeper like Fernando Muslera behind them, they look great at the back too. So if Uruguay manages to bring the best out of their midfield, they would make a great team who are strong at every part of the field.

Uruguay’s possible lineup:

Goalkeeper: Fernando Muslera.

Defense: Martín Cáceres, José Giménez, (c) Diego Godín, Gastón Silva.

Midfield: Federico Valverde, Matías Vecino, Rodrigo Bentancur, Giorgian De Arrascaeta.

Attack: Luis Suárez, Edinson Cavani.

Formation: 4-4-2
