Eredivisie First Manager To Leave

On 2nd August began the new season of Eredivisie, the first football league in Holland. Ahead we have perhaps one of the most interesting seasons when it comes to the Holland football league in recent years. The main favorite and defender of the title is the Ajax team who changed their business policy and made some sound transfers but also keep some of their young players and their biggest threat will be PSV. There are also the always inconvenient Feynoord and the standard dangerous AZ Alkmaar. Twente, RKC Waalwijk and Sparta Rotterdam join as newly promoted clubs from the second league. This league is known and famous for the young talented players that plays in the clubs like Ajax, PSV, Feynoord etc. These are clubs with the best football academies in the world and every year some young football star is born in this league. Also the success of Ajax in the UEFA Champions league last season attracts attention from whole football world to this league. But even if this league isn’t as popular as the English Premier League or Spanish La Liga, it is very interesting for watching. Beside the player’s quality, often in this league is important the quality of the club’s manager, and because of that many managers couldn’t survive under the preassure there and are often changed during the season.

Robert Maaskant is the manager of VVV Venlo, and according to bookmakers he is the main candidate to leave the league first. Also Henk Fraser the manager of Sparta Rotterdam is among the managers with big chances to leave the league. In this group of managers is also and Fred Grim from RKC Waalwijk, same as Adrie Koster from Willem II, Dick Lukkien from Emmen, Leonid Slutsky from Vitesse, Sjors Ultee from Fortuna Sittard, Danny Buijs from FC Groningen and Alfons Groenendijk from ADO Den Haag. All these managers will have difficult job firstly to avoid relegation and some of them maybe to manage the team to the places that lead to European competitions.

By the bookmakers John van den Brom from Utrecht, Erik ten Hag from Ajax, and Arne Slot from AZ Alkmar are currently safe and have least chances for leaving the league.

Of course not all the managers have same problems and preassure on them. The managers of Ajax, PSV, AZ Alkmar and Feynoord beside the domestic league competition it is expected from them to have success in the European competitions. It is even more difficult this season after the great last season Ajax had in the UEFA Champions league, but unfortunately was eliminated in the semi finals.

We hope that the league will be interesting as always and that the Holland clubs will have some great success in the European competitions and maybe to try to bring glory to the football in this country as it was through the history.
