The prominent Tollcross Swimming Center will, after hosting the swimming events of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 LEN Aquatic (Long Course) Championships, again see over 500 athletes from all across Europe compete across 40 different swimming events.

The 5-day swimming competition which will feature Europe’s fastest swimmers will comprise of 5 prelims sessions which are scheduled to start at 09:30 (GMT) and 5 finals sessions, scheduled to start at 17:00 (GMT).

The Tollcross International Swimming Center, a world-class aquatics venue, offers around 2000 spectator seats per session and provides swimmers with an electric atmosphere. It boasts two 50-meter pools, with one of them being converted into a 25-meter pool for the duration of the Short Course Swimming Championships.

Swimmers will aim to earn their tickets to the semifinals and finals during the prelim sessions. Only the fastest will then move on to swim in the semifinal and final heats in the afternoon sessions where they will fight for one of the 40 European Short Course champion titles.

Aside from the regular Freestyle (50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500), Breaststroke (50, 100, 200), Backstroke (50, 100, 200), Butterfly (50, 100, 200) and IM (200, 400) events, the Short Course Swimming Championships will also feature 100 IM and 4x50 Relay Races which are sure to offer faced-paced swimming action.

In the previous edition of this event, held in 2017 in Copenhagen, Russia topped the medal tables with 9 gold medals and 18 total medals. With several of their top swimmers already posting extremely fast times in the months leading up to the Short Course Swimming championships, they are looking to defend their title as the most successful nation.
