Poland Eurovision

As usual in recent years, the TVP, the public television of Poland has celebrated its traditional national final with a total of ten candidates who chose to get the passport to Eurovision 2018. Through the vote of a jury and the public has been decided that the representative of Poland for Eurovision 2018 will be Groome feat Lukas Meijer with the theme “Light me up” . The song was written by Gromee, Lukas Meijer, Mahan Moin and Christian Rabb.

In Lisbon, the audience will be excited about the fate of the song "Light Me Up". This was the expected choice for Poland, taking into account numerous rankings, votes or even comments on the Internet. It is founded by Gromee, or Andrzej Gromala, a music producer and DJ, who for the first time in his career uses the help of Lukas Meijer, a vocalist who performs in the Swedish rock band No Sleep For Lucy.

"Light Me Up" with rock does not have much in common - it's a hit, very dance piece, perfect for a holiday. Who knows if the frost outside the window did not give him some extra points ... The piece certainly is a nice change after the ballad proposals came from Poland in recent years. Both members of the entry offer even a very convincing live performance - as if everything was like in a music video, joyfully, energetically and at ease, but in the voice of Meijer it was possible to hear minor falsehoods. This is an element that will undoubtedly be refined, thinking about the success in Lisbon.

"It's a song with a lot of emotions that speaks of a difficult moment but also shows the will to move forward," Lukas Meijer told Eurovision-fr.net . "It starts in a rather intimate way but opens and changes into a big production that makes you want to move."

Groome is one of the most popular DJs and music producers in Poland, he develops his passions in his hometown, Krakow and finds himself perfectly in various genres of music, not only club music. Throughout his carrer he became famous not only for performing in the best clubs but also in festivals both in the country and abroad.

As a producer, he has been cooperating with the largest studios in the world for several years, including Andreas Moe, known from the production of Tiesto and Hardwell. In autumn 2017, Gromee released the next single "Without You", in which the Swedish rock singer Lukas Meijer performed as a guest. The song quickly became popular on the radio charts and is becoming more and more popular not only on the Polish market, but also on foreign markets. Gromee  has several remixes, such as a song by the famous Depeche Mode, by Nelly Furtado and even by Giorgio Moroder.

After the EBU draw, Poland will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest's second semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 and will appear in the second half of the contestant countries of the evening.
