In the first test Indian batsman Virat Kohli was not able to score big, with India’s captain often the top scorer for his side. Instead, Kohli could only add 37 runs to to his team’s totals, with those around him scoring the runs instead. He improved on this in the second test with a score of 123 to help his side reach a total of 283. His help with the bat was needed though as India had lost both openers for just 8 runs. Kohli fell for 17 runs in the second innings and the writing was on the wall for India after Australia had closed on a second innings 243.

Heading into the decider in Melbourne, this leaves Australia as the favourites to win the series outright at 17/10, the draw 6/4 and India 23/10. You can find the best online bookies for betting on cricket here.

India do have a serious chance of winning this series and if they are to do so, then their hopes surely lie with Virat Kohli and the bat. He is evens to score over a half century and that is the bet for us.
