UEFA Nations League will be played by senior men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA. Where the group champions of the groups in League A will play in the semi-finals and finals. The winner will be crowned as the champions of UEFA Nations League.  The last ranked national team in each group will be demoted to League B.

Group 1 of League A is undoubtedly the group of death. In this group, every team is worthy enough to be the group champions and also has the ability to win the tournament.

GERMANY :

Germany is one of the most successful national teams in international competitions. The current world champions Germany are one of the teams in the group 1. They have won the World Cup 4times in total and also won the European Championship 3times. They currently stand 1st in the FIFA world ranking. Joachim Löw’s side will be very confident heading into the UEFA Nations League after winning the FIFA Confederations Cup last year as well as the World cup in the year before. Manuel Neuer is expected to lead the team as their team captain. The Germans could be the 1st team to win this league formatted national tournament.

FRANCE :

The 1998 World Champions are a part of this group. France was one of the four European teams that participated in the inaugural World Cup in 1930. France arguably has the best international squad in the world at this moment with absolutely incredible squad depth.  They have more than one world class player in almost every position. They failed to capture the UEFA Euro 2016 after their defeat against Portugal in the finals of the tournament. After their unpredictable defeat at the Euro, they will be back to win the FIFA World Cup 2018 and the UEFA Nations League 2018/19. Didier Deschamps will be determined to win his first international trophy for France as their manager. The team will be led by Hugo Lloris. France is currently ranked 9th in the FIFA world rankings.

NETHERLANDS :

After their failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018, Netherlands will be back for redemption in the UEFA Nations League 2018/19. The Dutch hold the record for playing the most FIFA World Cup finals without ever winning the tournament, the last time being 2010 when they reached the final to lose to Spain. Their only major international trophy came in 1988 at the UEFA European Championship. Ronald Koeman is currently the manager of Netherlands. He took on the job in the February of 2018 after their former manager Dick Advocaat resigned after failing his team to qualify for the World Cup this year. They are currently ranked 21st in the FIFA world rankings.
