UEFA Nations League will be played by senior men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA. Where the group champions of the groups in League A will play in the semi-finals and finals. The winner will be crowned as the champions of UEFA Nations League.  The last ranked national team in each group will be demoted to League B.

Among the other groups in league A, Group 2 seems to look comparatively less competitive. But the best thing about football is its unpredictability, so anything can happen.

Belgium are the favorites to go through to the next round from this group. Belgium probably has the best squad of their history right now. Belgium known as the Red Devils has a few world class players in their squad like Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois who are in very good form right now. Belgium has never won any major international tournaments. They only have won the gold medal in football at the Olympics of 1920. With the amazing squad they have now they will surely want to win their first international trophy in football. Belgium currently rank 5th in the FIFA world ranking. Roberto Martínez, has had a good run as the Belgium head coach till now. Under his management, his team lost only 1 match out of 16 played, winning 11 of them. Eden Hazard will be leading his country.

Switzerland have been tremendous in recent times having played in the last three FIFA World Cups and the last UEFA Euro cup. The Swiss have also qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2018 and they will be playing in this group at the UEFA Nations League 2018/19. Under their current head coach Vladimir Petkovic, Switzerland has been impressive with a win percentage of 61.11%. And they currently stand 8th in the FIFA world ranking. The Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner will be leading his country.

The ultimate underdog in this group are surely Iceland, who can pull off an upset. They shocked the world when they beat Netherlands in both home and away in the qualifying round of UEFA Euro 2016. In doing so, they became the smallest ever nation to qualify for a major tournament. They beat England in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals of UEFA Euro 2016. Iceland managed to qualify for the FIFA World cup 2018 as well. Which is why they are in the League A of UEFA Nations League. Heimir Hallgrímsson is their current head coach while Aron Gunnarsson will be leading the team as their captain. They currently rank 18th in FIFA world ranking.
