Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana 2021

Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana is a single-day cycling race that generally takes place near the January last and February first, like the 2020 season was held on January 31th and the 2019 season was held on February 2nd. This year has also a chance to be organized prior to February or it’s first week if there is not seen any weather issues or any other reasons.

The race is originally one of the individual races of Vuelta a Mallorca and usually runs through Spain as class 1.1 on the UCI Europe Tour.

The Vuelta Ciclista a Mallorca is a series of four professional races, but five was counted until 2012 and generally run in late January or early February on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The event is seen by many of the top teams as an early-season preparatory race in preparation for the bigger races later in the season. On the UCI Europe Tour, the five races are rated as the 1.1 event.

The progress of saying about Vuelta a Mallorca is that there is an unofficial overall ranking winner in the competition, taken as a whole. This laid back mentality of the promoters of the race makes the race prestigious with team managers who can carry and interchange a large squad over the days. There are the usual Mountains, Stages, and Sprints competitions along with the Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana run, in addition to the overall classification on time. A competition for the top Mallorcan-based rider was also found.

Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana starts the race from Sóller near the northwest coast of Mallorca and proceeds to finish the race in Deià near the small coastal village of Serra de Tramuntana. The race involves a total distance of around 170-80 km and represents a bunch of sprints. It is contested over a further hilly course using, among others, the climbs of the Col de Sóller (501 meters) on the road.

Emanuel Buchmann is the most recent champion from the UCI World team BORA - hansgrohe. He won the 2020 edition with great success. He took the first position defeating Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) and Gregor Mühlberger (BORA - hansgrohe) in this year.

Other recent champions are Tim Wellens (Lotto Soudal) 2019, 2018, and 2017, Fabian Cancellara (Trek - Segafredo) 2016, Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) 2015.
