Belarus in Eurovision Song Contest Odds
Naviband have been chosen to represent Belarus at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Historyja majho zyccia. Belarus has participated in the the Eurovision Song Contest every year since 2004. The country achieved its best placing in 2007 with Work Your Magic performed by Dmitry Koldun which finished 6th in the Grand Final in Helsinki.
The show was hosted by popular TV presenter Olga Ryzhikova and Teo who represented Belarus at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Cheesecake. For the first time in the project’s history the viewers were able to watch the artists backstage – the 13 contestants were preparing to come on stage in the Green Room.
Although the indie pop duo were not the top choice of the televoters, they posted the highest total score thanks to the 12 points from the professional jury. Artyom Lukyanenko and Ksenia Zhuk performed Story of My Life in Belarusian. Artyom is the author of the song. The mood was certainly positive in the arena for NAVI too, with fans audibly chanting for the band. It wasn’t quite so simple for them, though. In the televote, NAVI only placed fifth. The SMS voting favoured PROvokatsiya, with NAPOLI, July and Anastasiya Sheverenko ahead of them.
The duo released their third album Illuminatsiya on the day of the national selection. The presentation of the album will take place in Minsk on 14 February. Over the three years since the duo was formed, Naviband have built an army of fans. Now they have a busy tour schedule.
Belarus stayed faithful to their national final for Eurovision and in 2017 made only minor changes. Compared to last year, there was an increase in the number of participants. In 2016 there were 10 artists, but in 2017 we have 13 acts competing. Belarus received a total of 67 entries this year and during live auditions a jury panel chose these 13 finalists.
The winner song is a very rocky, grabs your attention right from the start. Great female and male vocals and they work together so well. The chemistry on stage between these two is amazing and work well on a huge stage like the Eurovision stage, as they have such big personalities so would easily feel an arena with their amazing personalities.

The winner was presented a special award - a stylised Eurovision heart. The winner and finalists received prizes and gifts from the project sponsors and partners Glassworks Neman and Vitex.
Besides the finalists, the concert featured special guests such as Teo, Uzari and IVAN, who previously represented Belarus at Eurovision, as well as the most outstanding contestants of the current national selection – Vitaly Voronko, Oleg Shutsky and Shir, as well as Ukrainian singer Tasha Milkova.
