Manchester United have disappointed once again this year. Hopes were high when United board appointed Jose Mourinho as the new manager. Jose Mourinho was free agent after he got sacked by Chelsea last year when they had the worst season in a long time. Mourinho was provided with a huge transfer and wage budget by Ed Woodward that he utilized in the best way possible. Summer recruits, Bailey, Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan. Manchester United have recently returned to winning ways after a poor string of results. United have bagged 2 wins from their last 2 last 2 premier league games. If they continue their winning form, Jose is probably safe but he will need results on his side in order to take Manu back to its glory days. But if United fail to do so, Jose will definitely get sacked for the second time in two years.

It has been reported that Manchester United board is currently looking at the options to replace Mourinho. Rumors have named some potential replacements for (potentially outgoing) manager. Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone are named as the top contenders. Pochettino is having an impressive spell with Spurs that saw him lead them to a 3rd placed finish and Champions League Football. But everybody knows that Spurs are not made to compete at the highest level with their UCL campaign showing just that. Pochettino will be looking at the opportunity to manage a real top team that can compete at the highest level if he gets the chance. Diego Simeone has long been reported to make a move to the Premier League. Simeone has been more than impressive with his spell in Madrid during which he has won the League Title and reached the Final of UEFA Champions League. With his passion and mind for the game he will fit the bill perfectly at Manchester outfit and I reckon that if Jose departs, he will definitely be replaced by the Argentine.
