World Series of Darts Finals 2020

The 2020 World Series of Darts Finals, organized by Professional Darts Corporation, will be the sixth stage of the World Series of Darts Finals tournament. The tournament is scheduled to take place this year at Salzburgarena, Salzburg, Austria as Legs format from 18–20 September 2020.

The most recent winner is Michael van Gerwen, a professional darts player, being the defending champion who beat Danny Noppert 11–2 in the 2019 final and is currently ranked number one in the world. He has won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2019, 2017, and 2014.

In reality, world number one Michael van Gerwen and reigning World Champion Peter Wright will lead the field for the 2020 World Series of Darts Finals.

This year's World Series of Darts will eventually be a series of televised darts tournaments, with 6 World Series events and one finals event, which has been moved from Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Salzburg, Austria.

Two new venues were supposed to debut with New York City instead of Las Vegas for the US Darts Masters, and Copenhagen is the venue for the starting 2020 Nordic Darts Masters.

Qualified players

However, the 24-player tournament in Salzburgarena might see eight seeded players fighting against 12 invited stars and four qualifiers from 128 tour cardholders from the PDC.

Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Michael Smith, Daryl Gurney, Nathan Aspinall, and Gary Anderson are to join Van Gerwen and Wright as the seeded players.

Newly-crowned World Matchplay winner Dimitri Van den Bergh is among the invitees, together with James Wade, Dave Chisnall, Mensur Suljovic, Ian White, Fallon Sherrock, Damon Heta, Simon Whitlock, Kyle Anderson, Jeff Smith, Cody Harris, and Darius Labanauskas.

Prize money

The money for the reward remained the same as the previous year’s event. Total prize fund is estimated as £300,000 in which £70,000 for winner's share, £30,000 for first runner-up, £20,000 for semi-finalists, £15,000 for quarter-finalists, £7,500 for last 16  (second round), £5,000 for last 24  (first round).

The World Series of Darts Finals involves a health and safety concept including the division of spectators into the four different fields. The entrance is to be separated in space and time. Just one buyer per table and a group of visitors will be given tickets to ensure there will not be more than one group seated at one table. The pricing consists of a table fee for each table and a price per spectator.
