Germany does not want, like France at one time or Qatar recently, to be the so-called visiting team in the qualifiers for the 2024 European Championship, which will be held in that country.
The host of the tournament has the right to choose and can be a member of one of the qualification groups, in which he would maintain his form through non-competitive matches. The French did it on the eve of the 2016 European Championship, and the Qataris during the qualifiers for the recent World Cup. The Germans, however, have different plans. Hansi Flick wants his team to play all the preparatory games at home and choose which rivals they will play against and at what times. The question is, of course, who will be free when the European national teams will be busy with obligations in the qualifications.
