UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying
Group I

The UEFA European Championship is a football competition contested by the senior men's national teams. Only the members of the UEFA take participation in the competition to determine the continental champion of Europe. The current champion of Europe is Portugal, after they won the Euro 2016 by beating France in the final.
The Euro 2020 will be the 16th European Championship and it is scheduled to be held in 12 cities in 12 European countries from 12 June to 12 July 2020. This edition will be the first-time ever that VAR (Video Assistant Referee) will be used in a European Championship. The winner of the tournament earns the right to compete in FIFA Confederations Cup 2021. A total of 55-teams will be playing the qualifying round and 24 of them will be eligible to play in the finals. The teams have been divided into 10 groups of five or six teams in each of them.

The teams that are in Group I are:

Belgium
Head coach: Roberto Martínez
Captain: Eden Hazard

Belgium has one of the strongest team in the World right now. They have been absolutely fantastic in the World Cup 2018. The side has one of the best players in the World Eden Hazard, who is also their captain. Belgium was slightly unlucky as they could not go to the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League but they are expected to come back stronger in the qualifiers. They are one of those big teams that have never won a major trophy but it can change in 2020. They are currently ranked at the top of the FIFA World Ranking and are the most favorites to go through from this group.

Russia
Head coach: Stanislav Cherchesov
Captain: Artem Dzyuba

The hosts of the FIFA World Cup 2018, Russia was very impressive in the World Cup. They have appeared 11 times in both the FIFA World Cup and the Euro Cup. They even won the European Championship in 1960 as Soviet Union. Russia has played in every Euro since 2004 and is expected to play again in the finals in 2020. Russia played in the League B of the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 where they failed to get promoted but avoided relegation as well. They are currently ranked 48th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Scotland
Head coach: Alex McLeish

Scotland has made appearance in 8 World Cups and 2 Euro Cups in their history. The last time they played in the Euros was in 1996. However, Scotland has showed amazing football after they secured promotion from League C to League B in the UEFA Nations League 2018/19. They are currently ranked 38th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Cyprus
Head coach: Ran Ben Shimon

Cyprus has never been able to qualify for the World Cup or the Euro Cup in their history. Cyprus played in the League C of the UEFA Nations League 2018/19, where they ended up being relegated to League D after earning only 5 points in 6 matches. They are currently ranked 86th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Kazakhstan
