Who can win the Turkish basketball championship in 2017-2018 season?

Turkish basketball league emerged as one of the best in Europe in the last several years.

It seems that the Turkish Club are continuously improving their performances in the European competition and as a climax, we saw Fenerbahce win the Euro League this season convincingly defeating Olympiakos Athens.

Besides this fantastic club, two more Turkish representatives were among top 8 clubs in Europe. Efes Pilsen and Darussafaka Dogus.

Overall the Turkish League has enormous quality, and more and more good players are coming in their clubs.

We will try to present you the favorite for winning the Turkish national championship in the upcoming 2017-2018 season.

There are several clubs, and we are going to mention the few of the biggest title contenders.

Of course, the reigning European champion and the reigning Turkish champion, Fenerbahce is a heavy favorite.

We are yet to see the situation after this transfer window, but we think that Zeljko Obradovic, will once again put all the pieces of the puzzle together and create a strong squad. Bogdan Bogdanovic is probably going to leave for Sacramento Kings, and the situation about Jan Wesley is still unclear.  The most recent turn of events is suggesting that Fenerbahce will apparently be the ruler of the Turkish championship for many years to come as they clinched a new sponsorship deal, becoming the highest paid basketball team in history currently. Fener signed a contract with Dogus Group worth 45 million euros for three years. 15 million each season. That will be enough to bring high-quality players and to secure domination in domestic competitions. Maybe.

It will be an interesting battle for the second place. Efes Pilsen and Besiktas will be battling for the chance to challenge Fener, and so far, we believe that Besiktas has more chances as they eliminated Efes in this year's semifinals of the Turkish national championship.

The black and white from Istanbul are probably going to keep most of the team while the situation in Efes is not near that after the ending of this campaign. The morale and the atmosphere are terrible, and many players are willing to leave.

Galatasaray is in the process of reconstruction, and we do not think that they will be a worthy contender, despite the money invested in their team. Every year, this club and their fans announce high goals, but in the end, they disappoint. Like always, they will add several new players, and look for some chemistry on the floor. So far, in the previous seasons, they haven't made one.

Darussafaka will have to change the team and adjust to the fact that their owners now have a primary club at this moment, and that is Fener. Dogus Group is the owner of Darussafaka, to be exact one person owns both Darussafaka and Dogus. There is a possibility that they will withdraw some of the money from the club and that expensive foreign players leave. That would be a disastrous scenario for the team, as they heavily rely upon foreigners, because they do not have a good youth academy.

All in all an exciting season, with a lot of excitement, awaits us in Turkey, and we suggest that you prepare for one of the best competitions in Europe.
