Sibiu Cycling Tour 2020

The 2020 Sibiu Cycling Tour refers to the men's road cycling stage race around Sibiu, Romania, and this year will start on July 23, 2020, and end on July 26, 2020. The race covers a total distance of 479.9 km and features a traditional prologue on the cobbled streets including mountain stages to Bâlea Lac and Arena Platos and forms as part of the 2020 UCI Europe Tour. The route is designed with five excellent stages through individual sections.

The race is usually organized with the support of the local council and the regional council of Sibiu. The route of the race goes around the city of the Sibiu and generally runs over four days. The first edition of the Sibiu Cycling Tour took place in July 2011.

The Route

The first route is planned through a traditional Prologue around the city of Sibiu. And race across a technical 2.5 km along with corners and some cobbled sections.

The first stage of the route will start at CBU and will go to the mountainous region for the end of Belia Lake. The race covers a total distance of 183 km with conventional hilly spins, the longest race plan in the routes.

The second stage will be held around the city of Sibiu, Romania, and run through hilly rides. The race involves a long distance of 179.8 km (111.7 mi) and concludes in Sibiu city.

The 3rd stage consists of two different routes, and first of these races or 3a goes to the steep Curmătura Ștezii with the overall mountain stage and finishes at Arena Platos. The route covers a short distance of 12 km through extreme rides. The second race runs through a flat stage race and involves a ride over 102.6 km. The total race will cover the entire Sibiu city without going out of the zones.

Sibiu Cycling Tour 2020 is made up of a combination of different individual special teams such as UCI WorldTeams, Professional Continental Teams, Continental Teams, and National Teams. Most of the teams have participated in the Continental teams.

The Sibiu Cycling Tour has been going on since 2011 and is still continuing with the significant victories of riders.

The very recent winner is Kevin Rivera (Team Androni Giocattoli–Sidermec) 2019. And other winners are Iván Sosa ( Team Androni Giocattoli–Sidermec) 2018, Egan Bernal (Androni–Sidermec–Bottecchia) 2017, Nikolay Mihaylov (CCC–Sprandi–Polkowice) 2016 and Mauro Finetto won 2015 edition on behalf of the (Team Southeast Pro Cycling).
