Fleetwood Town – Scott Brown

Promotion contenders Fleetwood Town only managed to secure League One survival in the final round thanks to a better goal difference than relegated Gillingham in 2021/22 season.

Ahead of the new season, the Lancashire club have decided to increase their ambitions and bring in new reinforcements, starting with the coaching position.

Namely, the new strategist of the "Highbury" team is the legendary Celtic midfielder - Scott Brown.

Brown began his career at Hibernian, from where he moved to Celtic for £4.4m in 2007.

Over the next fourteen seasons, the Scotsman became a mainstay of the Glasgow giants, and spent the last year of his playing career at Aberdeen.

For Brown, this is the first coaching engagement in his career:

“I’m delighted to have been named Head Coach at Fleetwood Town, it’s a great opportunity at a really exciting club. I’ve always had a real desire to move into management and can’t wait to meet the players and staff and get started. The hard work starts now - I’m now looking forward to getting onto the grass.”

Chairman of Fleetwood Town, Andy Pilley added: “I’m absolutely delighted to name Scott Brown as the club’s new first-team Head Coach. It was important as a club we took our time with this appointment and was delighted by the high calibre of candidates who applied.

“After a thorough interview process it was clear Scott was the outstanding candidate and someone who’s a born leader, a serial winner, and incredibly serious about becoming a successful manager. We feel we are the perfect club for Scott to start his managerial career and he’s the perfect person to lead us to a new era at Highbury Stadium - it’s a hugely exciting appointment for Fleetwood Town.”

Scott is known widely known as captain and biggest fighter of Scottish giant Celtic. Scott led this team to 10 national titles, 6 Scottish Cups and 6 Scottish league Cups.

As a manager he is trying to spark the desire in the players of Fleetwood Town and to pass on to them his fighting spirit.

At the moment this team is in the middle of the table, but closer to the relegation zone than to the playoff spots. However, no one can blame everything on the manager as this is his first serious task as manager and in the first season his main goal will be to remain in this league and to build a team for the future of Fleetwood Town.
