La Liga Relegation 2018/19

La Liga is the men's top professional football division of the Spanish football league. It is the highest league in Spanish football which is why every Spanish club wants to remain in the league and to avoid the relegation zone by the end of the season. But every season three clubs that remain in the bottom of the table get relegated to the Segunda División. A total of 20 clubs compete every season in the La Liga.

The 2018/19 season of La Liga will be the 88th season since its establishment. The season will begin in August 2018 and will end in May 2019. This will be the first time that VAR will be used. In this upcoming season, Malaga, Las Palmas, and Deportivo La Coruña will not be able to participate and they have been relegated to the Segunda División last season.  They finished in the bottom three and will be replaced in the 2018/19 season by three clubs that have been promoted from the Real Valladolid. Huesca, Rayo Vallecano, and Real Valladolid are the three clubs that have been promoted and will play in Spain's top league in the 2018/19 season.

But, here are the three clubs are expected to get relegated by the end of the season:

Huesca has been promoted to the La Liga for the first time ever in their history. The season of 2018/19 will be their first season in Spain’s top flight but it is expected that their run in La Liga will end after one season. Huesca finished 2nd last season in the Segunda Division with only one point behind Rayo Vallecano but it was enough to earn them a direct promotion. Only time can tell if they can handle the pressure of La Liga against the top-sides of Spain.

Real Valladolid:
Real Valladolid has played in the La Liga before unlike Huesca. They were relegated in the 2013/14 from the top flight. They finished only 5th last season in the Segunda División but that was enough to earn them a play-off spot. They capitalized the opportunity as they won the final against Numancia (4-1 on aggregate). But it is highly expected that their stay at the top flight will be very short and they will be relegated again.

Rayo Vallecano:
At the end of the 2015/2016, Rayo Vallecano was relegated to the Segunda División from the La Liga after they finished 18th on the table. That ended their five-year streak in La Liga which is their longest ever stay in the top flight. But after a fantastic last season, they won the Segunda Division which earned them a direct promotion to La Liga again. With a little bit of consistency, they could survive the relegation next season but it is highly expected that they will fail to do so.
