Who is Manchester United's manager?

Ole Gunnar Solskjær was born on the 26th of February 1973 in Kristiansund, Norway. Aged 7, he joined Norwegian side, Clausenengen as he went into their youth academy. He stayed their until he was 21 and had scored 115 goals in 109 appearances, then joining Molde. After just 50 games played, he joined Manchester United as a 23-year-old.

As a striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjær never reached the century mark in league games, with a total of 235 played. His most famous moment as a red devils player came in the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich. He scored a 92nd minute winner, helping United to a treble of titles that season, one of the most famous Champions League goals of all time.

Solskjær signed his last contract with Manchester United on 31 March 2006, with an addition offer involved with would allow him to earn and practice for his coaching badges/qualification. On the 20th of May 2008, he was appointed in charge of the Manchester United Reserves the 2008 season. Solskjær was United's first full-time reserve team manager since 2006, taking over from Brian McClair and Jimmy Ryan. In his 1st season, he won the 2007–08 Lancashire Senior Cup, after beating the Liverpool Reserves 3–2 in the final

Shortly after the resignation of Åge Hareide from the position, Solskjær was offered the opportunity to coach the Norwegian national team; however, he quickly declined, saying that it was not yet the right time for him to become the Norway coach. Solskjær's final game as Manchester United Reserves manager was a 5–1 victory over Newcastle United on the 16th of December 2010.

On 2 January 2014, Solskjær was announced as manager of Cardiff City, however, this will not be one of the finest few months of his life. In his 1st game he beat Newcastle 2-1, after coming from behind to win 2-1 in sensational fashion. Cardiff then struggled for points and after defeats against Swansea City, Hull City, Crystal Palace and Sunderland, were relegated back to the Championship following a 3–0 away defeat to Newcastle. At the end of the season, Cardiff finished 20th, collecting only 7 wins and 30 points. He then was sacked at the start of the following season as he struggled to settle down in the Championship.

He returned to his former team Molde, but this time not as a player, but as the head coach on a 3-and-a-half-year deal. He was here till 2018, until Jose Mourinho was sacked at his beloved Manchester United and so was asked to fill in as caretaker manager. He was scheduled to return back to Molde, however, after some good performances, he was announced on a permanent deal at one of Europe’s greatest clubs.

Whilst he has given United multiple great moments, such as securing a Champions League quarter final, trophies are not anywhere to be seen and there is currently lots of speculation whether he will be sacked. With a very poor performance against Arsenal, followed by a loss to Istanbul, many want him gone.
