Transfer News and Gossip: Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea, and Tottenham

The coronavirus pandemic has shaken the world and has greatly affected the sports industry. The Premier League, in particular, had to be suspended back in March. It took 100 days before the League returned and people are now once again enjoying football as it is when it came back this month of June.

And so, the Premier League is back on, but one of the events that people are once again looking forward to is the summer transfer window. This should have already started but since the League had to be postponed, the 2020 summer transfer window in England is reported to pen on July 26. This is when this year’s league is expected to end. However, there still is no confirmation that it will indeed take place by then.

Surely, people are also looking forward to this because aside from betting on the sports itself, punters are also keen to wagering on football transfers. You can read more about betting on football transfers here. And so, who’s transferring where and who will be swapped with who? Well, we got the latest news and gossip on this summer’s football transfer here for you.

Barcelona and Juventus are getting ready for a swap between Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic and reports have said that this move is worth 72.5 million pounds. The personal terms with Arthur are almost done and it is said that he will be earning 4.5 million pounds a year in Turin.  It is known that Barcelona has always been targeting Pjanic for a while now. Meanwhile, Arthur has always been a promising midfielder.

Speaking of Juventus, the football club also asked about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s availability. Arsenal’s football captain has been in demand because of his 61 goals within his 100 appearances in London. He only has one year left with his Arsenal contract and Juventus could persuade him to join the club if Arsenal fails to qualify for the Champions League.

It is also reported that Arsenal was about to offer Willian Borges da Silva deal that is worth 250,000 pounds a week just before the pandemic affected the Premier League. Willian, according to reports, wants to stay with Chelsea for another three years. However, the club is only willing to offer him a contract extension for just two years. Aside from Arsenal, Tottenham is also chasing after him and since he may not get a three-year extension from Chelsea, he may come into terms with either the two clubs that are chasing him.

Aside from Willian, Tottenham was also going after Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier even before he joined Borussia Dortmund. He was signed for the German giants with a free transfer and a deal that is good for four years. Currently, Tottenham only has Serge Aurier as its senior right-back since Japhet Tanganga is injured and Kyle Walker-Peters is on loan at Southampton.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund is also going after Birmingham’s Jude Bellingham who’s only 16. He is also being chased by Manchester United after his impressive Championship plays this season, but based on how things are going, it seems like Dortmund is the favorite for the wonderkid. Bellingham was able to score four goals and two assists during his 34 appearances for Chelsea.

Manchester United is also reported to have joined the race to sign Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi. Apparently, Arsenal is willing to sell him for around 40 million pounds after his play on the club’s defeat to Brighton. However, it seems like it’s not only Manchester United that is going after Guendouzi. Milan and Juventus are also going after him and Barcelona and Real Madrid are also monitoring his situation.

Guendouzi is known to have been removed from Arsenal against Southampton because of internal issues. However, even if Barcelona and Real Madrid shared their interest in the midfielder, they still seem to not be firm about it.

Aside from Guendouzi and Bellingham, Manchester United, particularly its manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is focused on signing Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish. If in case they don’t get Sancho, there are reports that the Reds are also considering Jeremie Boga as an alternative. Sancho has another option and it is with Dortmund. Dortmund is said to be offering him a 120 million-euro valuation.

Boga has been a key player for Serie A side since he has left Chelsea in 2018. It must be great that the Reds are also eyeing him as an alternative because he is reported to be extremely interested in moving to the team and play for European competitions next season.
