We have free predictions and tips for the 2000 Guineas which will be hosted by Newmarket in May, 2019.

The best early value is with Elarqam at 7/1 with bookmakers, despite the Derby favorite Saxon Warrior’s 5/1 current lead at the market. The three-year-old, impressive colt hasn't been tested in either run to date, but he's on the rise despite his lack of exposure to some of the better middle-distance colts. His first win came at York by 3.25 lengths and by winning the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket he immediately stepped up in class. The 2.25-length win was enough to put the son of Frankel right into Guineas contention. Having not run at Group 1 level while entering the 2000 Guineas is the obvious concern but there's still plenty to like about the son of Frankel and he could follow in the footsteps of his father.

Gustav Klimt could be Aidan O'Brien's best value chance of winning the Classic races. The son of Galileo didn't show much on debut as a 7/2 chance but quick improvement was expected second-up when he got sent out as the 11/8 favorite. At Curraghe he did the job for bettors, before rising in class for the Newmarket's Group 2 Superlative Stakes, where he found a good turn-of-foot late to score narrowly. Although in the form guides the head margin might not do his win any justice, but he needed to show some class towards the end of that race and having a hard run under the belt will help his cause come May. Unfortunately, he was withdrawn from the Group 1 National Stakes at Curragh last September after he suffered a stone bruise, but he has been given time to get over that slight injury concern. A good future bet for the colts feature, Gustav Klimt has the makings for a 2000 Guineas winner.

Headway (an interesting runner from the Willie Haggas stables) could represent bettors with good early value. He is currently a 25/1 chance following his win in the Listed Spring Cup Stakes at Lingfield in March. The son of Havana Gold is one of the only Guineas contenders to have run this preparation and seeing as he was returning from a 189-day break, that was an exciting performance. He showed signs of quality during his first campaign when running second in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes and performances like that will continue to see him go close in the featured Group 1 races. Bookmakers might have let one slip here and bettors should take the value while it's on offer.
