StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7

With a prize pool increase from $300K to $500K along with the location change from Kiev to Shanghai, it is pretty evident that the StarLadder organizers are going out of their comfort zone in season 7.

Starting from March 30, the event features 16 teams including 3 determined through regional qualifiers in Europe, Asia, and North America while the remaining 12 being directly invited.

CyberZen: The Home Side

CyberZen will be the hosting team, one of the strongest CSGO teams in China they will be equipped with their home fans and will play at their home turf. Although unable to achieve great success against strong EU sides in recent years, the home ground might give the Chinese team some luck this time. They already showed a lot of strength when they crushed EHOME in the Asian Qualifier to earn the last spot for StarSeries i-League S7.

ENCE: The Defending Champions

The Russian-Ukranian side is returning to StarSeries as defending champions. In 2018, they were able to win two international titles including StarSeries S6 and DreamHack Open Winter, and also reached the DreamHack Open Montreal's grand final only to lose against Polish Kinguin. Hoping to succeed in China, ENCE will attempt to defend the title from their first major victory.

Fnatic: The Rising Force

Best known for their greatest lineup of all time back in 2015, Fnatic has since struggled to find their way to the top as the team broke apart, with Dennis signing for GODSENT and Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer leaving to FaZe. However, that hope came back at IEM Chicago after they played the best game of 2018 against Astralis. Now the team looks forward to show a more consistent force in the international scene once again in 2019.

Na’Vi: One of the Most Improved Teams in 2018

After winning the StarSeries Season 5 title, the Ukrainian team could not get the chance to defend it, as they skipped the season 6. But in last year alone they were able to win the ESL One Cologne, CSGO Asia Championships, and BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen, thus becoming one of the most improved teams in 2018, now they are returning with expectations to win the trophy once again.

Team Liquid: Back with an Updated Roster

After a very busy year of 2018, Team Liquid is traveling to China as the favorites. Last year they were among top four at major tournaments like SuperNova Malta, EPICENTER Moscow and ESL Pro League Odense, however, they just released TACO and zews in a trade to MiBR and signed Stewie2K. So it remains to be seen how their new roster will perform in the international scene.
