Odd unit: EU | UK | US

New league structure was introduced in 2016/2017 season in order to increase competition for the league title. In this new model, three top teams from 1st division get promoted to Superliga while the bottom team from SuperLiga is relegated. The number of teams competing in a league was also increased from 12 to 14.

Danish Super Liga 2017/18 will get underway in mid-July 2017 with 14 teams vying for the league title. Each team will play home and aways games with other teams before being divided into playoffs, the top 6 teams will battle for the league title while other teams will battle each other to avoid relegation.

FC Copenhagen

Since the inception of Danish league, FC Copenhagen has been the most dominant team in the league. They have won 12 league titles so far- more than any other team in the league.  Their dominance in Danish league can be recognized by the fact that In last 17 years of super Liga, FC Copenhagen has won 12 league titles.

In 2016/2017 campaign, they were simply outstanding. They didn't lose a single league game last season, their losses were against Leicester city and ajax in Europe. In 2017/18, they are expected to retain their rich vein of form and continue to dominate Danish football.

Brøndby IF

Brøndby IF may have lost their mojo in Danish football in the last decade or so but they are still considered one of the giants in the league along with FC Copenhagen.

they won their last league title in 2004/2005 season which makes it 12 years without a league title. In last three seasons, they have finished in top 6 and continue to improve as they finished 2016-17 season as runner-up. In the upcoming season, they will look to build upon their previous season's form and challenge FC Copenhagen's supremacy in the league.

They do not possess a rich footballing history in the country and have only won the league title once in 27 years of Superliga. But statistics from the past few seasons suggest they have gradually become one of the most consistent clubs in the league. In the last four seasons, they have secured qualification to the championship round of the league while finishing as champions of Super Liga in 2014/2015 season. In 2017/2018 season they will look to maintain their consistency and challenge for the title. They are a top side who are genuine title contenders for the upcoming season.
