LEC Summer 2020

Earlier this year, specifically on January 24, the spring season began, which was scheduled to end on March 21. Due to the current pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus, on March 13 it was decided to suspend the season, but four days later, it was announced that the remaining games of the spring LEC would be played online starting on 20 March. The LEC 2020 Summer season is the second season of the new LoL professional league in Europe. In it, ten European teams will compete against each other fighting for € 200,000 and direct positions towards the LoL World Championship.

The participating teams are:

  • Excel Esports
  • Team Vitality
  • FC Schalke 04
  • Fnatic
  • MAD Lions
  • G2 Esports
  • Misfits Gaming
  • Origen
  • SK Gaming
  • Rogue

The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) faces its summer season starting on June 12, when many of the teams will want to improve their squad to try to stay on the podium and secure a place in the World Championship.

The German squad of G2 Esports comes to defend the title of champion obtained in the last edition by winning with an impressive result of 3-0 to the always fierce Fnatic in an atypical online final held several weeks ago. While these teams retain the squad for the rest of the year 2020, other teams signed players who can help them achieve the LEC and, more importantly, a position for the 2020 World Championship.

The tournament will be played in a double round robin format, with matches in Bo1 mode, in which the six best teams will advance to the playoffs.

Due to the events registered worldwide, the schedules of the matches have been modified, therefore, the finals of the LEC Summer 2020 will be held on September 5 and 6 in Germany.
