Tour Championship (snooker)

The Tour Championship is a professional snooker competition that began its journey in 2019. The event is played with eight participants, the top players from the one-year ranking list that formed at the start of the season. The Cazoo Cup finishes with the Tour Championship, which is the third and final tournament. The prize pool for the tournament is estimated to be over £380,000, with the winner getting £150,000. ITV4 in the United Kingdom and Eurosport in the rest of Europe broadcast the competition.

The competition was basically declared in April 2018, and the first round was set to take place in March 2019. The tournament was held as the third and final event of the Coral Cup that is now referred to Cazoo Cup), a series of events sponsored by Coral that use only the previous season's standings. The tournaments in the Cup had decreased player entries, with the World Grand Prix drawing 32 players and the Players Championship drawing 16. With only eight players, the Tour Championship is the tournament with the lowest number of entrants of any on the calendar.

After the Players Championship was relocated from Llandudno to Preston in 2019, the competition was held for the first time at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, Wales. Every match in the 2019 Tour Championship was played over multiple sessions, with two in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, and three in the final, for the first time since the 2010 UK Championship. The best-of-25-frames final, which took place on March 23 and 24, was the first non-World Championship match to last this long since the 1992 UK Championship final. Ronnie O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson fought in the 2019 final after meeting in the Players Championship final two weeks previously.

The contest in 2021 was held without a live audience at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales, with all matches being best-of-19 structures. Maguire, the defending champion, did not qualify for the event because he did not achieve enough ranking points during the season. The final featured Robertson and O'Sullivan, the two players that competed in the 2019 event. Robertson won the contest by a score of 10–4 in the final.

Neil Robertson of Australia is the current champion, having won the 2021 Tour Championship with a 10–4 victory over Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final.
