FIBA World Cup 2019
Group D

The group D is a very interesting group hosted by Foshan city. Two European giants Serbia and Italy will compete in this group alongside Angola and Philippines.
There is no doubt that Serbia and Italy are the group favorites, but the most important thing will be who will take second place because this group cross with team Spain.

Serbia is next to the USA and Spain top contender for winning FIBA World Cup 2019.
National team coach Aleksandar Djordjevic has selected Serbian Allstar team.
Nikola Jokic, coming off an all-star season with the Denver Nuggets that earned him All-NBA First Team honors, leads the way for Serbia, along with Sacramento Kings duo Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Bjelica.  Philadelphia 76ers center Boban Marjanovic is also on the list, as well as Milos Teodosic, Vasilije Micic, Nikola Kalinic, Nikola Milutinov, and Miroslav Raduljica.
Serbia were runners-up at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain five years ago after falling to the United States in the Final. They lost to the USA again in the Gold Medal Game of the Rio Olympics while Slovenia beat Serbia in the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 Final.

Italy will face a difficult campaign in China. They will compete in Group D with Serbia and must finish in the top two to advance to Second Round Group J, where they would meet the first two teams that come out of a Group C that is made up of Spain, Tunisia, Iran, and Puerto Rico.
Azzurri will make their way back to the FIBA Basketball World Cup after 13 years.
Marco Belinelli, Danilo Gallinari, and European Qualifiers star Amedeo Della Valle are among the names on Italy's expanded list of players for the FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.
Coach Meo Sachetti also has European-based veterans Luigi Datome and Nicolo Melli and sharpshooter Davide Moretti, who played in the 2019 NCAA Final on April 9 for Texas Tech.
The game against Serbia is going to be so interesting to watch and we will see who will end on top of the group stage and probably avoid Spain.

Philippines national team already made big success by competing in this year World Cup.
They are aware that they are overwhelming underdogs against any of those teams.
This will be the Philippines' 6th appearance at the World Cup and 2nd straight after making quite a splash in the 2014 edition in Spain, where the Filipinos delivered scares to some elite international sides like Croatia, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. Team Pilipinas ended their 2014 campaign winning just 1 game (against Senegal) and losing their other 4 assignments.
The Philippines are going all-in on having Andray Blatche suit up for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.

The former African champions Angola, who qualified for the China 2019 showpiece by finishing second in Group E of the African Qualifiers with a 9-3 mark, faced Serbia three years ago at the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade. They last faced Italy at 1990 World Cup in Argentina, but have never played the Philippines.
Under FIBA's new competition system, Africa's best-placed team in China 2019 will earn automatic qualification for next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo. Angola will do their best and manage that goal.
