Ligue 1 First Manager To Leave

The first and basic question that arises when it comes to French football's first rank is whether a team can break the absolute dominance of the Saints from Paris, which lasts in the Championship since 2013. PSG has since then won six titles, with the only exception of the 2016/17 season when Monaco was the first-placed team ahead of the Parisians. In all likelihood, PSG's situation will not be spoiled by the departure of Gianluigi Buffon and Adrien Rabiot to Juventus, the departure of Danny Alves, nor the eventual departure of Neymar, which has been talked about this summer. Although the title is virtually pre-registered to the superteam from Paris, this does not in any way mean that other teams have nothing to play for and why to fight. All this pre season talk puts a lot of preassure on Thomas Tuchel, the manager of PSG. Everyone expects for his team easily to win the league but also to finally reach the UEFA Champions League final and maybe to win the so wanted trophy. Sylvinho the manager of Olympique Lyon will have the most difficult job to keep up with PSG in the title race as Lyon are second favourites for winning the ligue according to some bookmakers. Much is expected from André Villas-Boas the manager of Marseille, maybe not title but definitely a place that brings  European competition next season. Christophe Galtier with his team Lille is expected to finish in the top half and maybe to fight for the UEFA Champion League spot, same as Julien Stéphan with his Rennes. After very bad last season it’s hard to know what to expect from AC Monaco and Leonardo Jardim will have difficult job to bring the club to winning stages again. Olivier Dall'Oglio is the new manager of the newly promoted Brest, but the experts don’t think that he can last very long in this job and it is same for Frédéric Antonetti from Metz. Although he won promotion last season with Metz, it will be hard for him to save the club from relegation and to keep his job. Patrick Vieira will try to keep his club Nice in the upper half of the table which among such competition won’t be easy. However according to bookies the main candidates to leave the ligue first are the managers of the promoted teams from Ligue 2 and Stéphane Jobard (Dijon), Bernard Blaquart (Nimes), David Guion (Reims), Thierry Laurey (Strasbourg), Alain Casanova (Toulouse), etc.

Maybe the title race won’t be very exciting, but the fight for European spots and relegation battle for sure will be very tight and interesting to the very end of the season.
