Who will win the 2020/21 Scottish League Two?

Cove Rangers emerged victorious in the 2019/20 Scottish League Two after an early end to the season due to the coronavirus pandemic. A “points per game” system was put in place in order to determine the final rankings which ensured Stranraer’s relegation from the Scottish League One and Cove Rangers’ eventual Scottish League Two title. The 2020/21 season will be the 18th edition of the tournament and all of the top teams will want to be in a title race towards the end of the season.

Edinburgh City had a successful 2019/20 campaign in the Scottish League Two where they finished in second place on 55 points and an average of 2.04 points per game. Manager James McDonaugh will now see the side as the best team in the league after Cove Rangers gained promotion to the Scottish League One.

Stephen Farrell’s Stranraer FC were relegated from the Scottish League One in the 2019/20 season. They’ll believe that they’re one of the better teams in their new league next season and will hope they can have a run of good form in order to bounce back into the Scottish League One.

Elgin City FC and Cowdenbeath finished in third and fourth place respectively with a difference of only 0.02 points per game separating the two sides. Gavin Price will hope that his side’s ability to grind out results will prove fruitful in the 2020/21 campaign as the club looks towards a title race. Cowdenbeath fans will believe that they can also build a title challenge in 2021 with manager Gary Bollan already having 4 promotions to his name in his managerial career.

Queen's Park FC finished in fifth place in the 2020/21 Scottish League Two season on 41 points and a total of 1.43 points per game. Their head coach Ray McKinnon has never been promoted with a club despite reaching the playoffs multiple times. However, Queen’s Park FC have a talented squad and should be able to finish in the top half of the table by the end of the season.
