Marcus Lantz was born in Bromölla, Sweden on the 23rd of October, 1975 and is the current manager of Mjällby AIF. Marcus Lantz played football in midfield for European clubs such as Torino, Helsingborgs IF and Brøndby IF.

IFÖ Bromölla IF picked Lantz up through their youth academy where he made 10 appearances for the club before moving on to Allsvenskan club Helsingborgs IF. In his time at Helsingborgs IF, Lantz won the 1998 Svenska Cupen and the 1999 Allsvenskan title.

In 1999, Lantz joined Italian club Torino, however, he only made 3 competitive appearances for the club before moving on to German side Hansa Rostock. Marcus Lantz made 164 appearances for Hansa Rostock over the course of 6 years, he then moved on to Brøndby IF where he worked under Michael Laudrup, however, he then returned back to Helsingborgs IF in 2007.

In Lantz’s second stint at Helsingborgs IF, he won the 2010 Allsvenskan title which was his final season at the club before moving to Landskrona BoIS. Marcus Lantz also made 6 appearances for the Swedish National team over the course of his career.

In 2013, Marcus Lantz was appointed as head coach of the Örgryte IS under 21’s side. He impressed in the role and was promoted to manage the first team in the same year. Lantz coached the team for 4 years until he became their sporting director in 2017. In 2018, Marcus Lantz was appointed as head coach of Kopparbergs Göteborg FC which is a women’s team competing in the highest women’s division in Sweden. In his only season at the club, Lantz led the side to a second place finish which guaranteed their spot in the 2020-21 UEFA women’s Champions League.

Previous Mjällby AIF manager: Milos Milojevic’s contract ran out in late 2019 and was replaced by Marcus Lantz on the 10th of December that year. This means Lantz will be in charge of the club ahead of newly promoted side: Mjällby AIF’s 2020 Allsvenskan campaign. The club could be in for a tough season and Lantz will have to be prepared for a relegation battle by the end of the season.
