Brooks Keopka won 2 back to back editions of US Open golf tournament in 2017 and 2018. Brooks was very near to make a hat-trick, in 2019 edition but he fell short and finished in the second place. In the history of golf, no one could win the US open for three consecutive times.  Gary Woodland took the lead on the second day and the remaining days were wire-to-wire for him. Gary finished 13 under par and two times defending champion finished 10 under par for the second place.

The US Open Golf Championship 2020 is going to be held in Mamaroneck, New York at Winged Foot Golf Club. Winged Foot is a par 70 course having a length of 7264 yards; 6642 meters. Prize money will be the same; $12.5 million; the highest cash in any golf tournament in the world. The winner is going to grab a total of $22,50,000; 18% of the total prize money.  Winged Foot has only 2 par 5 holes and lengthy par 4 holes make this course suitable for the long hitters like Dustin Johnson, Rory, and Keopka.

Although Keopka finished second this year, he is still the top runner for the upcoming event at Winged Foot Golf Club, he has shown his form when he made 4 birdies on the first five holes on the final day. Keopka has a record of winning 4 major titles in 23 months, with two US Open titles and two PGA championships.  It looks like Tiger Woods has actually past his prime as he missed the cut in PGA Championship a few days after winning his 15th major tournament at Augusta Golf Club, but he is good to surprise any top player on any golf course.  Justin Rose is another top dog for US 2020 as he was neck to neck with Gary Woodland and has shown his abilities at many tournaments where he was a stroke or two behind the leader. Dustin Johnson; the longest tee shot hitter of the era, he is in a good position to make a statement. He can manage the length of long par four holes with his straight and lengthy tee shots.  Phil Mickelson who has the most runner-up record in the tournament - 6 times; 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2013 - could lift his maiden trophy in the tournament to remove the tag of Choker of the US Open.  Rory McIlroy won this tournament in 2011 with a record 16 under par finish, although he could not win any tournament for long, he cannot be counted off. With his carry 300+ shot, he can score early birdies to take a lead on the initial stage of the match.

The United State Open , famous as The US Open is one of top 4 golf tournaments in the world. Other 3 are; The Masters, The Open and The PGA Championship. The US open is organized by United State Golf Association; USGA in mid of June every year. 3rd Sunday of June is final day of this tournament which is also celebrated as Father’s Day in United States. This tournament is top of the list with prize money 12 millions US dollars; The highest in any golf championship. Winner’s take home is 2.16 millions.

The US Open was first time played in 1895 among 10 golfers with prize money of 335 US Dollars. Where the winner - Horace Rawlins - got $150 cash, a medal and a trophy presented by United State Golf Association. It was played at Newport Country Club, at that time it was a nine hole course. First tournament was a one day 36 holes match.

The US Open 2019 edition is scheduled to be played on 13 to 16 June in Pebble Beach Golf Club California. A 71 par score golf club with length of 6440 meters. Front 9 holes are 35 par having only 1 par five which is hole number 6 having length of 523 yard. Back 9s come with 2 lengthy par 5 (hole 14 580 yards and hole 18 543 yards) with aggregate of 36 par score.

Jack Nicklaus like The Masters open and The PGA Championship leads again having most victories (4 times : 1962, 1967, 1972,1980) in The US Open. He shares this record with 3 other players; all lifting trophy 4 times. Phil Mickelson has a unique record of 6 times runner up finishes (1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2013) with zero win. Tiger woods holds a record of the biggest margin victory in his debut win- 2000 edition- with 15 strokes lead and this is all time record of all four major golf tournaments. Rory Mcllroy and Brooks Koepka share the record of the lowest score which is 16 under par. Brooks Koepka is current champion who successfully defended his 2017 title of same event and he is going for a hat-trick. He is also title holder of 2018 The PGA Championship when he battered Tiger Woods with 2 stroke lead in Bellerive Country Club, Missouri. Keopka won The US Open Championship with +1 aggregate score - One of the highest of the tournament - while he won The PGA Championship with -16 aggregate of 4 days - One of the top lowest scores in the tournament -.

Brooks Koepka has a fair chance to defend his title while Rory Mcllroy and Jason Day are other notable players in the list of top dogs. Tiger woods showed that he has not fully past his prime with his performance in The PGA Championship where he was fighting toe to toe with young Koepka. Phil Mickelson has some physiological issues with The US Open. Mostly he stays neck to neck with leaders and finishes runner up, always. He might come with an upset in 2019 edition. Jordan Spieth cant be counted off. Currently He is top runner in any golf championship.
