LPL Summer 2020

After the obligatory pause in the world caused by the global pandemic of Covid-19, we will finally have the dispute of the most important league in the gaming world in terms of League of Legends, the LPL. The League of League Pro League (2020) of China celebrates nine years since its inception and will be held throughout the entire territory of China, specifically in the cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an, Beijing and Suzhou. The tournament will start on June 6 and will last approximately eleven weeks.

The LPL Summer 2020 will feature 17 top teams from around the world, who will face each other in a round robin (all matches are Bo3). The top eight teams advance to the playoffs. The distribution of the playoffs will be as follows:

  • The top two teams advance directly to the semifinal.
  • Third and fourth place advance to the quarterfinals.
  • From fifth to eighth place they will be in the first phase of the playoffs.

The matches played during the playoffs will be a direct elimination in Bo5 format and, in addition to winning the juicy prize of 1,500,000 ¥ approximately $ 215,000, they will qualify directly for the 2020 World Championship to be held in China at the end of 2020.

For the second year in a row, a Chinese team dominated the global stage at the League of Legends World Championship. The LPL now seeks to consolidate its worldwide dominance in e-Sports this summer in order to once again demonstrate its worth on the international stage.
