Paul Warne is the current manager of Derby County and was born on 8 May 1973 in Norwich, England. He used to be a footballer for many clubs around England such as Wigan Athletic, Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town mainly playing as a midfielder. He has been the manager of Rotherham United FC since 2016 and has no signs of leaving anytime soon.

In 1993-94, Paul Warne won the FA Vase for Diss Town as a youth player. As a senior player, Paul Warne played for Wroxham, Wigan Athletic, Kettering Town on loan, Rotherham United, Mansfield Town on loan, Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town between the years of 1996 to 2012. He made 477 competitive appearances between these clubs scoring 64 goals from midfield. He never cost a transfer free and joined each club on either a free transfer or a loan.

After Paul Warne retired from professional football in 2012, he joined the coaching staff at Rotherham United. In November 2012 he was given a testimonial for his many years of service at the club as both a coach and a player. In November 2016 after manager Kenny Jackett resigned, Paul Warne was appointed caretaker manager. A few months later after impressing the board and the fans, Paul Warne was appointed the full time manager of Rotherham United.

In the 2016-17 season, Rotherham United were relegated, however, the club decided to stick with manager Paul Warne which turned out to be the correct decision. In the 2017-18 campaign, Rotherham United finished fourth in League One and were promoted via the playoffs to the Championship but struggled to make an impact in either the FA Cup or the EFL Trophy.

After interim manager Liam Rosenior was relieved of his duties, Derby County, recently saved by local businessman David Clowes, approached Rotherham United to request permission to speak to Warne. Paul Warne was officially announced by Derby County as their new head coach.
