Who is Leicester's manager?

Brendan Rogers is the current Leicester City manager after taking charge in February 2019. Rogers was born on 26 January 1973 in Carnlough, Northern Ireland. Before going into management, Rogers played professional football for clubs around England and Ireland such as Reading, Witney Town and Ballymena United.

Rogers started his managerial career at Chelsea in 2004 as he worked in the youth team for 4 years before his first big job at Watford in 2008. In his only season at Watford, Rogers took the team to a 13th placed finish in the EFL Championship before joining Reading to replace Steve Coppell for a compensation fee of £1m. Rogers failed to last a whole season at Reading due to poor results and left by mutual consent before the end of the season.

In July 2012, Swansea City appointed Brendan Rogers. He had an incredible opening season winning the playoff final to guarantee promotion to the Premier League. Swansea City beat Reading 2-1 in the playoff final, Rogers got praised by the media for consoling Reading manager and owner after the fulltime whistle. In his first season in the Premier League, Rogers guided Swansea City to an 11th placed finish despite being favourites to be relegated.

Brendan Rogers then had an unsuccessful 3 years at Liverpool before being sacked in October 2015. In May 2016, Rogers made the move to Scottish side Celtic replacing the previous manager Ronny Deila where he won 7 trophies in a 3 year spell at the club.

Leicester City appointed Brendan Rogers as their new manager in February 2019 replacing former manager Claude Puel who parted ways with the club in the same month. Rogers’ first match in charge of Leicester ended in defeat against Watford 2-1, however, Rogers recovered from this to finish 9th in the Premier League in his first season at the club.
