Who is Oxford United's manager?

Karl Robinson was born on 13 September 1980 in Rainhill, England. He is the current manager of Oxford United and used to be a footballer for many different clubs around the United Kingdom such as Caernarfon Town, Bamber Bridge, Marine, Oswestry Town, Rhyl, Kidsgrove Athletic, Prescot Cables, St Helens Town, Alsager Town and Warrington Town.

He was in the youth academies of Everton and Liverpool but never really made it to the top leagues. While he played football, he played as a striker but made many appearances in midfield throughout the duration of his career. However, he only made 48 career appearances and scored only 5 goals as he retired at 26 years old.

In 2010 he was appointed MK Dons manager at 29 years old and was the youngest manager in the EFL Football league at the time. In his first season, he guided MK Dons to a fifth place finish but lost to Peterborough United in the playoffs. He finished in fifth place again in the following season but missed out on promotion again. In 2014 he registered a 4-0 win over Manchester United in the EFL Cup and also gained automatic promotion to the Championship after finishing second in the league.

In their first season in the Championship, MK Dons suffered relegation after finishing 23rd in the league. Karl Robinson kept his job but was relieved of his duties a few months into the season due to poor performances. He was approached by Charlton Athletic in November 2016 and joined the club at their new manager after the departure of the previous manager Russel Slade.

On March 22nd, 2018 Karl Robinson left his role at Charlton Athletic by mutual consent and joined Oxford United on the same day as his departure from Charlton Athletic. In his first season, Karl Robinson guided the club to a 12th place finish in League One and reached the third round of both the EFL Cup and FA Cup. He also reached the quarterfinals of the EFL Trophy to round off a successful season. This season he and the fans will be hoping to push for promotion to the Championship if he is to improve his reputation as a manager and prove himself at Oxford United FC.
