Tour of Slovenia 2021

The 2021 Tour of Slovenia is a cycling stage race that will be held in Slovenia between 9 and 13 June 2021. The race will be the 27th edition of the Tour of Slovenia, and the first time it will be categorized as a 2.Pro race on the UCI Europe Tour. The race usually lasts five days in Slovenian cities and serves as a great competition.

The race was held for the first time in 1993 and was organized as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour between 2005 and 2018. It is generally run for five days and involves flat races and climbing sessions. The 2019 edition was classified as a 2.HC race for the first time and the race became a part of the new UCI ProSeries in 2020.

The route generally consisted of five extreme stages and a total race distance of nearly 650 to 800 km. The route also involves flat trails, mountainous climbs, and intermediate sprints around Slovenia. The attracting thing of the race is individual time trial that is seen sometimes taking place in these stages likely in the last stage. The individual time trial could be expanded to 20 km or more. Ultimately, the race represents Slovenia’s historical interest through the race and that’s why many experienced riders are seen taking part in this competition.

The 2020 Tour of Slovenia was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic that was scheduled to start on 10th June 2020.
