Group H of Qatar World Cup 2022

Team South Korea

South Korea has been one of the most destructive teams in the continent of Asia since 1980s. They are the most successful asian team and have played 9 straight World Cup campaigns. Their best World Cup campaign was in 2002 when South Korea was the host nation and they finished on the 4th position. They have many great talents including Spurs’s Heung Min Son who has been a very top notch player in Premier League. This season he scored 20+ goals and outscored the likes of Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo. South Korea sits at 29th position and they are the only team from Asian region who looks strong enough to pull something magical in this World Cup. Are asians ready to challenge the world? Let’s see!

Team Uruguay

Uruguay is the top three side of South American football after Brazil and Argentina. Uruguay has always produced one of the deadliest strikers. This year they will have their old legendary duo of Luis Suarez and Cavani for the last time probably. Uruguay has 2 World Cups on their side. They won the very first FIFA World Cup in 1930 and later in 1950. Since then Uruguay hasn’t won the World Cup and their last campaign was also great. They topped the group with perfect 3-0-0 and conceded 0 while scoring 5. They reached the quarterfinals of the Russia World Cup. Uruguay is a great team but they need more to come as a contenders for the World Cup. There are chances but we will have to wait.

Team Ghana

Ghana played its first World Cup in 2006 and also failed to qualify for the World Cup in 2018. Ghana has gone the farthest in 2010 when they reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup. Ghana has a good team for their competition in Africa but at the World level they are not yet ready to challenge the contenders directly. Ghana has to prepare very hard if they want to survive the group stages because with likes of Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea as opponents, not only Ghana but every team can struggle here.

Team Portugal

Portugal qualified at the last moment for the World Cup and their story is just like it was written in stars for them to qualify. Portugal under the leadership of one of the GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo has been decent. Portugal despite of having such a talented squad hasn’t impressed the fans much. Some blame that the coach isn’t managing the team well and some has other opinions. Portugal were knocked out of RO16 in the last World Cup and has reached the highest in a World Cup in 1966, reaching the third position. Portugal has never won the World Cup. This seems quite unimaginable to say that even with this talented squad many football fans don’t see Portugal as the favourite contenders. Portugal has always been a ferocious team when Ronaldo plays with them and we all can remember how they won the 2016 Euros against all odds. Portugal, if managed well and a chemistry develop among the players, can reach the final of the World Cup, surely its a dream of every football fan to see Argentina vs Portugal in the final but let see what fate has to say.
