Who is Hertha Berlin's manager?

Bruno Labbadia is a manager from Darmstadt, West Germany as is currently in charge of German football club Hertha Berlin. Labbadia played as a striker in his playing days making appearances for clubs around Germany such as Bayern Munich, Hamburger SV, FC Koln and Werder Bremen.

Labbadia was born in Darmstadt, West Germany to Italian parents. As a youngster, Labbadia came through the academies of FSV Schneppenhausen, SV Weiterstadt and Darmstadt 98. He then went on to play for Darmstadt 98, Hamburger SV, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Bayern Munich, 1. FC Köln, Werder Bremen, Arminia Bielefeld and Karlsruher SC. He made 557 competitive appearances over the course of his career scoring 204 goals as a striker. Labbadia also made 6 appearances for West Germany u21’s and 2 appearances for the German National team.

Bruno Labbadia started his managerial career at Darmstadt 98 and Greuther Fürth in 2003 and 2007 respectively. After 2 successful stints at each club, he was appointed as manager of Bayer Leverkusen in 2008 where he made the final of the German cup final in his only season at the club.

Labbadia then had 2 stints at Hamburger SV directly before and after a successful time at VfB Stuttgart where he qualified for the UEFA Europe League two seasons in a row and reaching the 2012-13 DFB Pokal final. He then moved on to VfL Wolfsburg where he was sacked by the end of the season due to finishing in the relegation playoffs. On the 9th of April 2020, Hertha Berlin appointed Bruno Labbadia as their manager. Hertha Berlin have recently begun to spend huge amounts of money with a view to becoming one of the biggest clubs in Germany. In the 2019-20 season, the club spent nearly £100m on players such as Krzysztof Piatek, Lucas Tousart, Dodi Lukebakio, Matheus Cunha and Santiago Ascacíbar, all of whom are under 24 years old as the club are building a squad for the future.
