Who is Union Berlin’s manager?

The career of the Swiss Urs Fischer can be described as quite manageable, but not as short. He spent his youth at FC Zurich and was active there for eleven years. Closely rooted in the club, he also played here for the first three years of his professional career before moving to FC St. Gallen for eight years. Fischer played an impressive 243 games and scored four goals as a defender. He then returned to FC Zurich, where he played for a further eight years and then ended his career as an active footballer. Here he won the Swiss Cup in the 1999/00 season, which is his greatest success as a player.

After a four-year break from the football business, Fischer took his place as co-coach at the bank of his youth club FC Zurich for the 2007/08 season. One year later he became head coach and remained so for the next two years. The two-year stopover at FC Thun was followed by his most successful two years so far at FC Basel. From 2015 to 2017, he and his team won the Swiss championship twice and became cup winners in 2017.

In 2018, the Swiss player entered the second Bundesliga and trained the 1st FC Union Berlin here. Already in his first year he managed to help the soccer club from Berlin to the rise. Equipped with a two-year contract, he accompanies the Berliners in the First Bundesliga and hopes to maintain their class here.
