The World Series of Darts Finals is coming soon, and it's time to start getting excited! This annual event brings together the best players from around the world, with countries and continents competing against each other in front of thousands of fans.

The tournament will take place at the AFAS Live, Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 16 to September 18, 2022. Twenty-four players are going head-to-head over three days to find out who will be crowned World Series Champion.

We don't want you to miss this fantastic sporting event, so we've put together some important stats about the World Series of Darts.

The Prize Pool

The total prize money for the tournament is 350,000 pounds. If a player loose the first round, he will be paid only £5,000. If a player reaches the next round, he will be paid £7,500 in case he loses. Those who will qualify for the quarter-finals will at least get £15,000 per player if they cannot win.

From the semi-finals onwards, the prize money goes into the five figures. The player who will qualify for the semi-final will receive £20,000, while those who will lose the final will get £30,000. The winners will take home £70,000.

The Champions

Scotland is the defending champion of the World Series of Darts. Last year, Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price won the title last year after beating Dimitri Van den Bergh 11–6 in 2021 final. Again this year, the Scottish duo will play together. The Professional Darts Corporation organized the World Series of Darts Finals, which took place for the seventh time in 2021. The competition took place from October 29 to October 31 at AFAS Live in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Wales will play with Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton, former champions and close friends. Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert will represent Neatherland in next edition. Michael van Gerwen, a three-time PDC World Champion, had arm surgery, so he had to withdraw.

The History World Series of Darts

It is a series of darts tournaments organized by Professional Darts Corporation. It started in 2013 with the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters. The main goal of these tournaments is to make darts famous worldwide. The finals of the World Series of Darts were announced in 2015. Each world series event includes ranking points. Players earn based on their performance in the tournament.

The World Series consists of two to seven tournaments that take place in different countries across the globe with the best PDC players. The players have to compete against local qualifiers in a knockout format. Since 2015, a final tournament has been held each November. However, in 2018 it was held in Multiversum Schwechat in Vienna, Austria. In 2019 Netherlands hosted the championship in Amsterdam. In 2020, it moved to the Salzburgarena in Salzburg.

That said, we can't wait until September rolls around so that we can catch all the action live! Will your favorite player be able to win their way into the top spot? Or will someone else claim it?
