Who will win the 2020/21 Bundesliga title?

The Bundesliga is the first division in Germany and will be the 58th edition of the tournament. The league will be made up of 18 teams and is believed to have the start date postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic which forced the 2019/20 season to run late into the summer, a season which Bayern were victorious.

Bayern Munich will be heading into the 2020/21 season as the favourites after winning the previous season’s title. They’ve found success under new manager Hans-Dieter Flick and their superstar-filled squad will hope to continue their German domination for years to come. They have players such as Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Jérôme Boateng and Thomas Müller who are hugely experienced and will be able to lead the younger members of the squad to success.

Lucien Favre’s Borussia Dortmund side finished behind Bayern Munich once again in the 2019/20 season, therefore, they will be desperate to turn things around next year. Similar to Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund have superstars of their own with Mats Hummels, Erling Braut Håland and Jadon Sancho all able to step up in big matches, provided the club don’t let them go in the upcoming transfer window.

RB Leipzig have had mixed results over the past few years, however, they look to be building a very good squad under manager Julian Nagelsmann. If they can keep hold of some of their influential players, they should be a direct rival to holders Bayern Munich next season. The future of players such as Dayot Upamecano, Ibrahima Konaté, Timo Werner and Dani Olmo will determine how Leipzig’s season pans out in 2020/21.

Bayer Leverkusen also have a talented young squad going into the 2020/21 season. Players such as Kai Havertz, Exequiel Palacios, Leon Bailey and Moussa Diaby will be key in order to mount a serious title challenge. However, if they are to keep up with the likes of Bayern Munich, they’ll have to bring in good players in the transfer window.

Other teams which could be the surprise package are Oliver Glasner’s Wolfsburg, SC Freiburg and free-spending Hertha Berlin who could all be in the top 4 by the end of the campaign.
