The European Athletics Championship will bring more excitement as more than 4500 athletes are gearing up for this unique tournament. This continental competition will incorporate more than 20 contests in which 52 nations from the old continent will face each other with the ultimate goal of winning medals. One contest that is high on the agenda of the pundits is the 800 meters race. This contest will bring some well-known names with each of them aiming for the top spot.

One notable athlete that will take part in this race is  Pierre-Ambroise Bosse. The French runner is considered as one of the favourites to win a medal at the European Athletics Championship. The 26 years old athlete is no stranger to winning medals and tournaments as he has a broad spectrum of successful appearances. At the last continental tournament in Amsterdam in 2016, he was able to finish at the 5th place with a time of 1:45.79. Bosse continued his progress as he took part at the Rio Olympics where he finished at the 4th place at the 800 meters race. Moreover, he was also able to improve his personal record as he runs 1:43.41. Yet it seems that Bosse was able to galvanize on this steady progress as he was able to make a big step in his career during the World Championship in London last year. The French athlete won the gold with a score of 1: 44.67. Based on this result Pierre-Ambroise Bosse will be the main contender for the gold medal at the 800 meters race.

Nevertheless, there are other athletes that will aim to reach the top as well. One of them is Adam Kszczot. The Polish runner is no stranger when it comes to competing against Pierre-Ambroise Bosse. He took part in the 2017 World Championships in Athletics – Men's 800 metres where he finished 2nd just behind Bosse. However, it seems that that result gives him an additional motivation as he bounced back this year during the World Indoor Championship in Birmingham. The Polish runner was able to finish the race in 1:47.47 which was enough for the 1st place. This result showed that Kszczot is in his prime and it will be interesting to see how he will do against Bosse at the 800 meters race at the European Athletics Championship.

On a final note, we can conclude that the 800 meters race will be one of the most competitive events at the European Athletics Championship. With both of these athletes aiming for the top, we will have the priviledge to see one race that can go into the history books of the continental tournaments.
